American Foulbrood
Larvae and pupa killed by American Foulbrood first decay to a brownish, viscous mass and can be drawn out to a long thread that may snap back if pulled to far. The decaying brood stinks. Photos on this page from: Honey Bee Brood Diseases by Henrik Hansen. There is no better book for field identification of bee diseases than this!
