Accredited External Degrees and Classes

This is a list of accredited degree granting schools who deliver degrees without a residency
requirement. Some of the offerings are entirely delivered via correspondence, others offer online computer links. NOVA, New York Institute of Technology, International school of Information Management and the Electronic University all offer degrees online. As far as I know, only New York Institute of Technology and University of Phoenix offer undergraduate degrees that way, although undergraduate classes are
available elsewhere.

You can also get credit from an accredited school and apply them to degrees at other accredited
schools. It is important that you have the approval of counselors (in writing) that class A at institution A will be a viable substitute for Class B at institution B, otherwise you may be forced to use the class in question as an elective credit. Obviously it pays to ask before you invest your time and money.

...and asking for "The Independent Study Catalogue." Regents College puts out a booklet listing graduate external graduate degrees for about $6. Call to find out about it. It is updated annually. Regents College allows you to plug in credits from any school (as long as they are accredited and the credits fit the profile of the class) for use against their degrees (they have quit a few).

Since you can use any accredited class, you can shop around for the best deal. For instance, a rotation of Math classes (algebra through calculus) at BYU runs about $180 per class, versus $240 per class at Berkeley. This amounts to a savings of $360 for 6 classes that are "worth" the same academically.
