Through the years, various slack key techniques and styles have been developed.
The ideas and influences that inspire us to create come from a variety of
sources. But the simplicity and the magic that transpires between the slack
key player and the guitar can only come from within. I thank the Lord for
his guidance. Mahalo to my parents for their help, encouragement and love:

Special thanks to the family of the late Tommy Solomon of Kohala for turning
me on to Uncle Tommy's recording of Old Timers Hula, recorded in 1946. Also

of Old Timers Hula.
