Lapakahi State Historical Park

This fine historical Park offers lessons in Hawaiian history and archaeology as well as a fine marine preserve to explore. Just a short walk North lies Mahukona State Park, a favorite swimming and snorkling spot, complete with barbeque pits, toilets, showers and camping (by permit).

Lapahaki Park is and important Hawaiian cultural and educational resource and is not a state recreational area.

In keeping with the Hawaiian cultural program, should you desire to swim within the marine life conservation waters we ask that following items not be taken beyond this point...

1. furniture of any kind

2. electronic appliances (ie radios, tape players, etc.)

3. food, liquor or beverages

4. recreational articles (ie beach balls, etc.)

5. coolers

6. picnic baskets

7. fishing gear

8. camping equipment

9. towels/sunscreen"
