Back to the Lapakahi Introduction
When you visit the Lapakahi Marine reserve, there are a myriad of creatures that you may encounter. Perhaps you will see Lau'ipala moving shyly between the rocks and reef. Schools of Manini might dance by you. If you are really lucky, a pod of Whales may pass by. The Green Sea Turtle, or Honu can be seen free swimming, or hiding among the rocks on the bottom.

Prohibited Activities
- Taking of marine life
- Removal of any coral, sand or rock
- Possession of fishing gear or implements
Exceptions
Subzones A and B
- Knives, shark billys, powerheads and carbon dioxide injectors may be possessed for personal safety.
Subzone B
Lawful to take finfish and crustaceans by:
- lift net (for opelu only)
- hook and line and thrownet
Penalty: Max, $500 and /or 30 days in jail
