Mahukona State Park

This park offers water activities such as swimming, snorkeling and boating, as well as camping (by permit only). The Lapakahi State Historical Park is a short walk South.

Ocean conditions are usually calm here, and the water clear. However, like all seahores, waves can cause dangerous conditions. Always be aware of the surf conditions on this coast. Another possible danger is the risk of high winds blowing a swim ring or raft (with occupant) out to sea.

Barbeque pits are spread over the park and bathrooms with showers are part of the pavillion. Camping and pavillion permits; call 889-5532, 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Mon.- Fri. at Hisaoka Gym .

Tap water is not recommended for drinking.
