Called "kohola" by the Hawaiians many types of Cetacian inhabit Hawaiian waters. These include the resident Spinner Dolphins, False Killer whales and the migratory Humpback whales.
Between December and April Humpback whales can be seen regularly at any of the many elevated spots along the coastal highway from Kawaihae to Upolu point.
